The second release in its Casks of Lindores series was matured entirely in Spanish red wine barriques that were shaved, toasted and re-charred, or STR treated, bringing plenty of ripe fruit and spice without burying the malt underneath. Matured first in refill and re-charred American oak, the rum finish pushes Cardhu’s orchard fruit into much more tropical territory, bringing pineapple, mango and caramelised sweetness alongside plenty of oak spice.
