Ardnamurchan’s Midgie release is a playful tribute to the tiny Highland pest that appears every Scottish summer. Beneath the humour sits a very serious whisky, combining both peated and unpeated spirit matured in a mix of bourbon barrels, port barriques and a touch of sherry. The result captures the distillery’s coastal Highland character beautifully, balancing bright fruit, maritime salinity and a gentle wisp of smoke.

Nose:
Torched pineapple, salted prunes and strawberry jam with almond oil, coconut and fresh mint.

Palate:
Salt baked pear, wildflowers and lemon thyme with sultanas, cocoa powder and soft cherrywood smoke.

Finish:
Dry and lingering with pink peppercorn, red currant and a gentle puff of smoke.
