The final chapter in the Anthology trilogy from Ardbeg on Islay, The Beithir’s Tale embodies the unexpected. Matured for 15 years in bespoke “designer” bourbon casks - air-seasoned, heavily toasted and lightly charred - it pairs Ardbeg’s signature peat smoke with creamy vanilla and toasted oak in a bold, experimental exploration of flavour.

Nose:
Pungent and oily with treacle, creosote and smoked herbs. Toasted apples, raisins and a burst of eucalyptus, menthol and pine when you add water.

Palate:
Intense peat smoke, coffee grounds and currants lead the way. Sweet lemon balm, smoked mandarin and a sizzling mouthfeel build the complexity.

Finish:
Long and meandering, wrapping vanilla and smoked butter around the core of wood-fire smoke and herbal embers.
