An interesting story with this one. You may have heard of Tasmania's Nant Distillery and the scandal surrounding it. A tale of empty promises and empty barrels, broken hearts and broken reputations. Many people lost money and some lost their livelihood. Which was a pity, because the whisky produced was genuinely good stuff. Remnant is the last of the old Nant produce, slowly being sold off (rem-nant = remains of Nant). If you've never tried Nant whisky... you should. And you won't have many more opportunities.

Nose:
Tia Maria, tiramisu, fruit cake, coffee cake, caramel, pastry, peach, apricot, brown sugar.

Palate:
Vanilla, espresso, caramel, pastry, cranberry, citrus, tangello, apricot, cocoa.

Finish:
Buttery pastry, apricot, spice, fruit cake.
