Westernport is a small coastal distillery in Victoria, known for maturing spirit in carefully sourced casks and letting the maritime climate shape the result. Westernport is a genuinely hands-on operation on the shores of Westernport Bay, where founders David and Scott brew, distil, mature, re-cooper and bottle their whisky themselves. Their cask work is a major part of the story, with the distillery rebuilding and re-toasting barrels in-house before filling them with spirit.

Nose:
Fresh malt and gentle yeastiness, with plum and dark fruits slowly opening from a tight start.

Palate:
Light spice, toasted buckwheat, subtle red fruit and clean oak with a pleasantly dry edge.

Finish:
Fresh and surprisingly deep, with lingering oak, dark fruit and gentle savoury spice.
