Tasting Notes
From the hands of two of Scotland’s most revered whisky minds—Richard Paterson OBE and Ian Macmillan—comes the first chapter in Wolfcraig’s Triple Sherry Cask Finish Series. This 14-year-old blend was split between Amontillado, Pedro Ximénez and Muscatel casks sourced directly from Jerez, where they’d been seasoning for 15 years before being filled. The result is a whisky that speaks of craft, time and balance—50% malt, 50% grain, all harmony. Deeply indulgent and unmistakably sherried, but with a finesse that only seasoned hands can deliver.
Nose:
Lively and bright—sun-warmed raisins and stewed stone fruits with tangerine, lemongrass and a soft vanilla cream lift.
Palate:
Silky and rich. Glazed figs and sultanas lead the charge, backed by layers of Napoleon cake, demerara sugar and spiced molasses. Sweetness rises slowly, but reward comes with patience.
Finish:
Long and luxurious—chocolate mousse, marzipan, spiced orange, nutmeg and a final flicker of ginger warmth.
